First Theatrical Trailer of "The Social Network"

The much buzzed about trailer of The Social Network has hit the web. Just in case you've been living under a rock, this is the movie about Facebook. Yes, Facebook. Even more unbelievable, it's directed by the amazing David Fincher (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Zodiac, Fight Club), so the very idea of this movie went from lame to awesome in just about two milliseconds. It also stars Jesse Eisenberg, as Mark Zuckerberg (the creator of Facebook), Andrew Garfield, and Justin Timberlake, who plays Sean Parker, the creator of Napster.

This movie has been on my mind for awhile, and I'm incredibly curious to see how it turns out. I am in love with Jesse Eisenberg, because he's adorable, brilliant, and endearingly awkward. I swear, after Adventureland, I'd watch anything with him in it. Millions of people use Facebook everyday, but they may not know anything about its meteoric rise to popularity, and ultimately, notoriety. It's a story that revolves around the sudden acquisition of billions upon billions of dollars for a young college kid, and the vicious legal battles on ownership, copyright infringement, and privacy that ensued.

The marketing campaign started virally with cryptic posters, a vague website titled '500 Million Friends', and audio teasers here and there, but we've barely seen any footage of the film. Now we finally have a full length trailer. Check it out below.

The Social Network opens 10/1/10.
