The BAFTAs (the British equivalent to the Oscars) were held tonight and surprise, surprise, the two big actor awards both went to Brits: Carey Mulligan (who really stole the show tonight, in my opinion, with her fab floral Vionnet dress) and Colin Firth for best actress, and actor, respectively. All sarcasm aside, I actually am shocked by their wins, considering both have been nominated for all the big awards and currently they are nil and nil on wins. I couldn't be any happier though, I love love love the adorable Carey Mulligan, and anybody who doesn't adore Colin Firth and his delicious accent is out of their mind.
The biggest winner tonight though, was the creative force behind The Hurt Locker. It earned the best director, best picture, best original screenplay, best sound, best film editing and best cinematography awards. Let's see if they can sweep at the Oscars on March 7 too.
